The Hermosa Beach Police Department has the following programs available to assist seniors  and vacationing residents:

• Homeward Bound Program: Seniors with Alzheimer’s disease can provide (via a family member) the Hermosa Beach Police Department with their personal information and family contact information. This information is can be vital in contacting family members in the event the senior is located away from their home or care facility. Download Alzheimer's checklist and enrollment form. 

• Vacation Check Program: Hermosa Beach residents who are leaving town for a period of time can request that vetted volunteers from our Volunteers in Policing program (VIP) and/or Police Officers conduct exterior checks of their homes. Residents must complete the Vacation Check request form and provide the information requested. To ensure proper processing of the request, the form should be emailed to the Program Coordinator no less than 5 days prior to the date that the first home check is requested. • You Are Not Alone Program: Family members can ask the Hermosa Beach Police Department to check in on their senior family members or friends. A vetted volunteer from our Volunteers in Policing (VIP) program and/or Police Officer can make regular visits and document: medications taken by the senior, doctors contact information, physical condition of the senior, and general living conditions. Download application form.
