The Community Development Department provides planning, building & safety, code enforcement, and other development-related services. The Community Development Department exists to ensure that Hermosa Beach continues to be the #bestlittlebeachcity in the South Bay.  We do this by:

• Providing timely, friendly and efficient development services to all customers;
• Enhancing the quality of life and protecting public health and safety; and
• Advancing the goals and objectives of the City's General Plan.

 The Department also supports the City's Planning Commission and Building Board of Appeals.
