Electric Vehicle Purchase + Charging Incentives
Hybrid and electric vehicles are a greener alternative to typical gas-powered cars. The South Coast Air Quality Management District and the Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee have established a residential Electric Vehicle charging incentive program to offset EV charger hardware cost. The program provides an incentive to buy-down the cost of residential chargers and is available through the AQMD Residential EV Charging Incentive Pilot Program. Incentives for the purchase of EVs and installation of charging equipment is also available from Southern California Edison and the City of Hermosa Beach.
Electric Vehicle Parking Incentives
There is no charge for parking permit stickers issued to 100% Electric or 100% CNG vehicles that are registered to residents who live or own residential property in the impacted areas. Free parking is available at silver pole/silver cap parking meters up to the maximum time limit stated on the meter (2-3 hour limits) for any 100% Electric or 100% CNG Vehicle (resident or non-resident), but please note that all vehicles MUST OBEY the 2-3 hour time limits. Currently, this incentive does not apply to Hybrid or Plug-In Hybrid Vehicles. More information is available on the City's Parking Permit Information webpage.
