Green Zone Meters
The City converted its 15-minute green parking spaces on Pier and Hermosa Avenues to 24-minute metered spaces. This change was enacted to encourage consistent turnover so that these spaces remain available for short-term uses that benefit our businesses.
To allow brief visits to remain complementary, meters at these spaces will feature a 5-minute “grace period” function activated by pressing the green “OK” button on the meter head. The complementary grace period is limited to the green zone parking spaces to provide a balance of parking options and to maintain the green zone purpose of supporting quick visits to the nearby businesses. The new meters will have a 2-hour or 3-hour posted time limit from 8 PM to 2:00 AM.
