The City of Hermosa Beach has partnered with Project 529, a cross-jurisdictional bicycle registration platform that assists law enforcement and citizens in the event of a theft, damage, or sale of a bicycle. Hermosa Beach residents are encouraged to register their bicycles at our department's registry or through the Project 529 Garage App. If a registered bike is found, the information provided at registration makes it easier for authorities to reunite an owner with their bike. 

If a bike is stolen, residents can immediately alert the local 529 Network in the 529 App or website. Additionally, a police report should be filed using the information on the 529 Account to identify the bike. You can report your stolen bicycle online or by calling HBPD at 310-318-0360 for more information.   

Remember that in addition to registering your bike, it is important to always lock your bike to prevent theft.
