CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH REMINDS RESIDENTS TO KEEP THE FOURTH FUN AND SAFE 

HERMOSA BEACH, CA — Our Country’s 250^th Birthday is almost here, and the City of Hermosa Beach looks forward to celebrating another great Fourth of July weekend with residents and visitors. 

Whether you’re celebrating on our Strand and beaches, at a local backyard barbeque or just spending time with friends and family, we ask that you help our City honor the Holiday safely and with respect for our hardworking neighbors. Let’s work together to make this a memorable weekend for all the right reasons. 

To that end, a few friendly reminders for the upcoming Independence Day weekend: 

Increased PD & Fire Presence to Keep the Community Safe

As they do around this time every year, the Hermosa Beach Police Department (HBPD) and L.A. County Fire will increase their presence throughout the City from July 3 – 5. They’ll be on hand to keep things safe, provide support when needed and help us create a welcoming environment for both our residents and visitors. 

If an emergency arises, always dial 911. For issues like noise complaints and parking enforcement, especially during this busy weekend, please reach out to our City/PD’s non-emergency line at (310) 524-2750. 

Fireworks are Illegal in Hermosa Beach

An important reminder: fireworks are illegal in the City – including “safe and sane” ones – but there are plenty of legal fireworks show across the South Bay. We encourage all to enjoy those shows safely, and to avoid their own “personal fireworks shows” that may end in fines and confiscations. 

Enjoy Responsibly

We ask all residents and visitors to celebrate safely – don’t endanger yourself, your friends or your neighbors by drinking irresponsibly. Driving under the influence, public intoxication, open containers, underage drinking and drinking on the beach are all illegal, and violations will be enforced. 

Please respect the public spaces we all share – and remember that our City is walkable and rideshare exists for a reason: if you need to get somewhere, plan ahead and use the many resources available. 

Be A Good Neighbor

Finally, a reminder to all that our next-door neighbors may not have received the party invite. For hosts (whether in town or not): if police are called to the same property more than once for noise or rowdy behavior, the property owner – not just the guests – may face fines.
