On May 26th, the City Council recognized 2025 Hermosa Beach Certified Green Business recipients which promote programs to support sustainable business practices. Businesses undergo several assessments evaluating sustainability measures, ranging from energy efficiency to responsible purchasing practices.

FY 2026-27 Budget Study Sessions Continue

Thanks to everyone who participated in our third and fourth budget meetings this past Tuesday and Thursday! Another Budget study session is scheduled for June 9, with final adoption of the Budget scheduled for June 23rd. The City faces significant fiscal challenges which will require a mix of spending reductions and revenue enhancements to maintain our quality of life. Everyone is encouraged to participate in this process.

Wireless Emergency Alert Test

FIFA World Cup 2026 is coming to the Los Angeles region. As part of ongoing regional preparedness and alert and warning coordination efforts, Alert SouthBay will conduct a LIVE Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) test on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. Pacific Time. Nike After Dark Tour LA 2026: Comped Race Bib Opportunity

The After Dark Tour LA 2026 is coming to Hermosa Beach! Please fill out this interest form by May 31st, 2026 for your chance to score a comped race bib courtesy of Nike. Race bibs will be distributed on a first-come-first serve basis by City staff and the Parks and Recreation Department will contact you via the email you provide on the interest form.
