Parking Permits Enforcement
Friendly reminder that the grace period for the 2026–2027 residential parking permits will end on Thursday, March 19. Parking enforcement for the new permit year will begin on Friday, March 20. Residents who have not obtained their permits are encouraged to do so before the grace period ends.
Permits may be purchased online, by mail, via the dropbox outside City Hall, or in person on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and more information is available on the City’s website.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Yes, it’s this Saturday starting at 11am, more details below—for all participants, please remember the staging area has been changed to the northside of Pier Ave on Valley Drive.
Sanitation District Construction Starting Soon
Construction of the Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts South Bay Cities Main Trunk Sewer Repair Project is schedule for March 2026 through February 2027. The project involves repairing approximately 15,500 feet of sewer in Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach. The Districts will rehabilitate the sewer with a pipe-lining system, which can be installed inside the old pipe. Work in Hermosa Beach will be completed in several phases, with Phase 1 anticipated to begin as soon as March 30 starting along the Greenbelt between 2nd Street and 4th Street and then working its way north through the City.
The Districts have selected Sancon Technologies as the contractor, and they will provide residents additional notice for working days and hours, and any possible disruption to your service. No work is allowed will be allowed in our commercial zones between April 1 and September 30. For more information, please visit project website.
Free Shred & Compost Giveaway Event
On Saturday, April 4 from 8am to noon, the City and Athens Services will host paper shredding and compost giveaway event. Free to residents, the event will take place at the Community Center (710 Pier Avenue - enter driveway off Pier Avenue). St. Patrick’s Day Parade
