On January 27th, the City Council recognized several artists who designed the City’s utility box wraps, celebrating their creativity and contributions to enhancing our community’s public spaces. The program transforms everyday infrastructure into public art, helping beautify neighborhoods and showcase local talent.

On February 3rd, the City Council recognized the newest member of the Hermosa Beach Police Department, K-9 Arco, and his handler, Officer Ivan Torres, welcoming them to the community and acknowledging their role in enhancing public safety and police operations.

City Manager's Report
State of the City
On January 15th, Mayor Rob Saemann delivered the annual State of the City address, highlighting the City’s continued collaboration with residents, regional partners, and local organizations, as well as the many accomplishments achieved during his term. The presentation also outlined key priorities and initiatives moving forward. If you missed the address, you can view it here.
Residential Parking Permits
The 2026–27 residential parking permits are now on sale. Permits may be purchased online - this is the fastest option, by mail, via the dropbox outside City Hall, or in person on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Current 2025-26 permits remain valid through March 19, 2026, and more info is available on the City’s website.
Presidents Day Holiday
City Hall and Community Center offices will be closed Monday, February 16 in observance of Presidents Day. Street sweeping and parking enforcement along PCH will be suspended that Monday, as will all construction work, while all other local parking regulations remain in effect. Trash will be collected as scheduled.

Parking Lot C-Partial Reopening
On February 4th, Parking Lot C has been partially reopened to the public. There will be approximately 54 parking spots (including 7 disabled parking spots) available on the first floor and half of the second floor for residents and visitors to park.
Construction Notice: CalWater Pipe Replacement
CalWater will be replacing approximately 2,050 feet of new water main pipe and service connections to homes along Aviation Blvd. between Aubrey Park Ct. and Corona St., Owosso Ave. between Aviation Blvd. and 9th St., 10th St. between Prospect Ave. and Owosso Ave., and 9th St. between Prospect Ave. and Owosso Ave. Work is scheduled to start February 9, 2026 and anticipated to be completed May 31, 2026.
