City Manager's Report
Happy New Year from Team Hermosa!
On behalf of your city staff, I want to wish everyone a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.
Yes, there have been lots of changes at City Hall over this past year. And yes, things will continue to change because that’s the nature of the business we’re in—staff will come and go, issues will change and evolve.
But our mission will always be the same—doing all we can as city staff to best serve the City Council, our residents, businesses, and visitors.
We’re here to help because we love what we do as city staff. Yes, we get paid to do it but the same can be said for most any other job, right? Public service is different. I believe it’s a calling for people who want to be that change they want to see in the world, right here in our little corner of it called Hermosa Beach.
You’ll see city staff at council meetings, City Hall, and around town doing the many different jobs that they do. If you come across them, please feel free to say hi and offer a kind word if you’re so inclined, because they love to know they’re making a difference. And if you see something that isn’t right or can be made better, feel free to tell us that too.
It’s going to be another busy year in Hermosa Beach, but rest assured that your city staff, “Team Hermosa,” is on the job and working together to help make Hermosa Beach the best little beach city it can be.
MLK Holiday
City Hall and Community Center Offices will be closed Monday, January 19 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Street sweeping and parking enforcement along PCH will be suspended that Monday, as will all construction work, while all other local parking regulations remain in effect. Trash will be collected as scheduled.
Hope everyone has a great Holiday, and as always, Police and Public Works remain available throughout. For non-emergency assistance, please call the dedicated Police Department line at (310) 524-2750.
