About the event: Step into the shadows of Los Angeles with a one-of-a-kind journey through haunted history, mysterious tragedies, and ghostly legends. This immersive day tour explores the eerie side of Hollywood, from abandoned zoos and tragic train wrecks to the final resting places of stars who may not have fully left the spotlight. Carrie & the Prom
Friday, October 10, 2025, 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Location: Community Center
About the Event: City will host a special 18-and-up screening of the horror classic “Carrie” at the Community Center Theatre – the same venue where scenes from the movie were shot. The event will begin with a 7PM reception including a 70’s-themed prom and tours of local filming locations, followed by the film screening at 8:30PM. Pumpkins in the Park

Location: Edith Rodaway Friendship Park
About the event: Friends of the Park will host “Pumpkins in the Park” from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Edith Rodaway Friendship Park on 350 Prospect Ave. Families are welcome to enjoy a costume contest, face painting, a photo booth, games and pumpkin decorating. Walk to End Alzheimer's

Parking Permit Art Contest
City is now accepting design submissions for parking permit year 2026-2027. Open to all Hermosa Beach residents, please submit your design by October 31, 2025. There is no fee to enter but the design competition is limited to one entry per resident. Please visit City’s website for more information.
Tax Rebates & Exemptions
Friendly reminder that eligible Hermosa homeowners may qualify for property tax rebates on sewer and street lighting/landscaping charges. For more information on requirements, including age, disability, income and residency, please visit the City’s website. Applications are due October 13, 2025.
Lot C Structural Improvements – CIP 699
Slater Waterproofing, Inc., a contractor for the City of Hermosa Beach, will begin structural repairs and improvements at the Lot C Parking Structure, beginning Monday, October 6th through January 2026.
