The City of Hermosa Beach today announced the launch of “Sunny,” a new AI-powered chatbot now live on the City website (hermosabeach.gov) to help residents quickly and easily access city services, report issues and get their questions answered around the clock.

Developed in partnership with CitiBot and powered by artificial intelligence, Sunny serves as a virtual website assistant that understands basic, City-related questions and delivers real-time responses using trusted information from the City’s official website and other authorized sources.

Beginning Monday, June 23, visitors to the City’s website will see Sunny’s icon in the bottom-right corner of every page. Residents and visitors can click on Sunny at any time to ask questions about City services. It is available 24/7 and fully integrated with the City’s website and the GoHermosa service request app – enabling residents to submit service requests directly through chat.

“This new tool makes it easier than ever for the public to navigate our website and get the information they need,” said Hermosa Beach Mayor Rob Saemann. “Whether asking about upcoming events, searching for meeting agendas or reporting a maintenance issue at a local park, Sunny is always available to help Hermosa residents find the answers and help they need.”

In addition to providing instant answers to inquiries, Sunny can:

· Direct users to specific City webpages based on their questions

· Submit service requests through the GoHermosa app

· Provide multilingual support in more than 70 languages

· Connect users with contact information for relevant City staff or departments when human assistance is needed
