Hermosa Beach Pride
The 5th Annual Pride Celebration returns June 11-15, 2025, and it’s fun, bolder, and more unified than ever before. The five-day celebration is a passionate call for visibility, solidarity, and joy—anchoring a variety of Pride-themed events across Hermosa and the South Bay. Federal Holiday - Juneteenth
On June 19th, we celebrate freedom, resilience, and unity. May this Juneteenth be filled with joy, reflection, and a commitment to fostering positive change. In observance of Juneteenth the following City operations impacted on that day: City Hall will reopen for in-person services on Monday, June 23. Street sweeping and parking enforcement along Pacific Coast Highway will be suspended on Thursday, June 19, all other parking regulations will remain in effect. Trash collection will proceed as scheduled, but no construction work is permitted on the holiday.
The Police and Public Works Departments will remain available; for non-emergency matters, please contact the Police Department at (310) 524-2750.
E-bike Safety Reminder
Safety is a top priority in Hermosa Beach, and we want to remind everyone of our e-bike ordinance to help keep our community safe. All e-bike operators and passengers under the age of 18 are required to wear a properly fastened helmet. It is strictly prohibited to operate a bicycle, electric bicycle, or any motorized or electric device while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or in any unsafe manner. Additionally, electric bicycles and other motorized or electric conveyances are not permitted on the Greenbelt. Passengers may only be transported on an electric bicycle if they are seated in a separate, securely attached seat.

BCHD Summer Free Fitness Series: Mindful Yoga on Hermosa Beach
The Beach Cities Summer Free Fitness Series returns with a refreshing lineup, kicking off with Mindful Yoga on the Beach. Take in the ocean breeze and find your center on the sand near Scotty’s Restaurant. All sessions are guided by expert instructors from the Center for Health & Fitness, part of Beach Cities Health District (BCHD). In Case You Missed It
Our community proudly took part in the Special Olympics Torch Run on Monday, June 2nd, a powerful tradition that symbolized unity, courage, and inclusion. As the torch was passed through our City, it carried not only a flame but also the hopes and dreams of athletes around the world. We were honored to support this inspiring movement and to celebrate the incredible strength and spirit of all Special Olympics participants.

At its June 10th meeting, City Council recognized month of June 2025 as LGBTQI+ Pride Month and invited everyone to recognize the achievements of the LGBTQI+ Community, to celebrate our great diversity, and to reflect on ways we all can live and work together with a commitment to mutual respect and understanding.
