Following is a statement from Hermosa Beach Mayor Rob Saemann regarding the Hermosa Beach City Council’s appointment of Public Works Director Joe SanClemente as temporary Interim City Manager during its May 13 meeting:
“Following the recent departure of our City Manager, the City Council has voted to appoint Public Works Director Joe SanClemente to serve as temporary Interim City Manager. Joe will take on the responsibilities of this role while continuing to lead our Public Works Department as the Council recruits an Interim City Manager to take his place.
Joe has served our community with distinction since 2021, overseeing major infrastructure projects and modernizing the City’s capital planning. His leadership, professionalism and deep knowledge of City operations make him well-suited to guide Hermosa Beach through this transition.
The Council’s actions reflect our commitment to maintaining stability, supporting our City staff and ensuring continued progress on the priorities that matter to Hermosa Beach residents. We appreciate the community’s patience and trust during this time, and we will provide further updates as the process moves forward.”
