NOTICE AND SUMMARY
ORDINANCE NO. ORD-25-1486

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on March 11, 2025, the City Council of the City of Hermosa Beach (“City”) will consider the adoption of Ordinance No. ORD-25-1486.

Ordinance No. ORD-25-1486 repeals sections 12.28.010(H) and 12.20.240 and adds Chapter 12.40 to the Hermosa Beach Municipal Code regulating camping in public areas and finding the same exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act. Specifically, the ordinance prohibits camping in prohibited public places and this prohibition includes the use of a vehicle for human habitation as defined. Violations of the ordinance are subject to misdemeanor prosecution or the City’s administrative citation penalty procedure pursuant to Chapter 1.10.

Ordinance No. ORD-25-1486 was introduced for first reading and modified by the City Council of the City of Hermosa Beach at its regular meeting held on February 25, 2025.
