NOTICE OF ADOPTION AND SUMMARY
ORDINANCE NO. ORD-24-1483

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH, CALIFORNIA REPEALING HERMOSA BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 3.08.020 AND DETERMINING THE ORDINANCE IS NOT A PROJECT UNDER THE CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT

 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on January 28, 2025, the City Council of the City of Hermosa Beach (“City”) adopted Ordinance No. ORD-24-1483.

Ordinance No. ORD-24-1483 repeals section 3.08.020 of the Hermosa Beach Municipal code removing from the Municipal Code the settlement authority for the City Manager for claims and litigation against the City. The Ordinance is not a project under the California Environmental Quality Act pursuant to section 15378(b)(5) of the CEQA Guidelines.  

Ordinance No. ORD-24-1483 was introduced for first reading by the City Council of the City of Hermosa Beach at its regular meeting held on November 12, 2024 and adopted at its regular meeting on January 28, 2025, by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Keegan, Detoy, Jackson, Mayor Pro Tem Saemann, and Mayor Francois; NOES: None; ABSTAIN: None ABSENT: None.

The Ordinance will take effect thirty days after its adoption. To obtain a full understanding of the Ordinance, it should be read in its entirety.  A certified copy of the full text of the Ordinance is posted in the City Clerk’s office at Hermosa Beach City Hall, 1315 Valley Drive, 2nd floor, Hermosa Beach, CA 90254, and on the City’s website at http://www.hermosabeach.gov.
