2025-2026 RESIDENTIAL PARKING PERMIT SALES AND CITY COUNCIL UPDATES

Post Date:02/04/2025 9:06 AM

To improve the customer experience, the City is upgrading its online parking permit platform, to a contemporary and intuitive system. As a result, the sale of 2025-2026 Hermosa Beach Residential Parking Permits was extended and will begin on April 1, 2025. Existing 2024-25 Residential Parking Permits will remain valid throughout the extension period.

The cost of a residential parking permit is $60 each. Residents may purchase parking permits through multiple channels: online, by mail, via email or via dropbox located outside of City Hall. Residential Parking Permits are limited to three per year per residence, with allowances made for an optional fourth permit under certain circumstances. Any of the three allotted residential permits can be used as a guest/transferable parking permit that does not need to be assigned to a vehicle and will count toward the maximum number of permits per residence.  During its January 28 meeting, City Council voted to modify the valid forms of proof of residency for Residential Parking Permits.

Proof of residency to secure vehicle sticker permits must now be established by providing:

  • A valid driver's license AND vehicle registration that BOTH show the same Hermosa Beach residential address. This address must be within the City’s designated Residential Parking Permit areas to qualify.

To obtain only a guest/transferable permit, residents must:

  • Provide valid government issued identification AND current bank or credit card statement that displays the same current Hermosa Beach address within the City’s designated Residential Parking Permit areas.

Hermosa Beach resident Karen Beduya was named the winner of the 15th Annual Residential Parking Permit Design Contest, City Administrative Services Director Brandon Walker announced at City Council’s January 28 meeting. Ms. Beduya’s original design will appear on the City’s 2025-2026 residential parking permits. The design’s vibrant colors and imagery reflect Hermosa Beach’s unique character and beach culture, while the setting sun and seagulls evoke a sense of tranquility and coastal charm.
