NOTICE OF ADOPTION AND SUMMARY ORDINANCE NO. ORD-24-1475

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING HERMOSA BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 1.10.040 PARAGRAPH (A) TO INCLUDE VIOLATIONS PERTAINING TO PARTIES ON PRIVATE PROPERTY, SOLID WASTE COLLECTION, SPECIAL EVENTS, OUTDOOR FITNESS CLASSES FOR CITY PARKS AND BEACH, AND USE OF CITY SEAL, LOGO, AND INSIGNIA, IN LIST OF VIOLATIONS SUBJECT TO ADMINISTRATIVE CITATION PROCEDURES

 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on March 12, 2024, the City Council of the City of Hermosa Beach (“City”) adopted Ordinance No. ORD-24-1475. Ordinance No. ORD-24-1475 amends section 1.10.040 (A) to add specific violations of the Hermosa Beach Municipal Code that are now subject to possible administrative citation and amend a reference to Chapter 9.28 to clarify what violations of the Parties, Events and Gathering on Private Property chapter are subject to administrative citations. Specifically, violations of the following Hermosa Beach Municipal Code references are not subject to the administrative citation process: (i) Chapter 8.12 (Solid Waste Collection and Disposal); (ii) Chapter 12.30 (Special Event on Public Property); (iii) Section 12.28.030 (Permit requirement for outdoor fitness classes in city parks and on the beach; and (iv) Chapter 1.06 (Custody and Use of the City Seal, Logo, and City Insignia). Finally, this ordinance is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act.

Ordinance No. ORD-24-1475 was introduced for first reading by the City Council of the City of Hermosa Beach at its regular meeting held on February 27, 2024, and adopted on March 12, 2024 by the City Council of the City of Hermosa Beach by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Detoy, Saemann, Jackson, Mayor Pro Tem Francois, and Mayor Massey; NOES: None. ABSTAIN: None. ABSENT: None.
