NOTICE OF ADOPTION AND SUMMARY ORDINANCE NO. 23-1470
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH, CALIFORNIA APPROVING ZONE CHANGE 23–01 TO REZONE CERTAIN PARCELS TO R2A – MEDIUM DENSITY RESIDENTIAL (22) TO REALIZE DEVELOPMENT CAPACITY ANTICIPATED IN THE HOUSING ELEMENT, REZONE CERTAIN OPEN SPACE (OS) PARCELS AS PUBLIC FACILITY (PF) TO ALIGN WITH PLAN HERMOSA LAND USE DESIGNATIONS, DESIGNATE ZONING FOR HOUSING ELEMENT SITES INVENTORY SITES WITH AN OVERLAY, AND MAKE A DETERMINATION THAT THE ZONE CHANGES ARE CONSISTENT WITH THE PLAN HERMOSA CERTIFIED FINAL ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on November 14, 2023 the City Council of the City of Hermosa Beach (“City”) adopted Ordinance No. 23-1470 to amend the zoning map and Title 17 of the Hermosa Beach Municipal Code to effectuate programs in the 2021-2029 Housing Element. The Ordinance amends the zoning map and Title 17 of the Hermosa Beach Municipal Code to effectuate programs in the 2021-2029 Housing Element. As part of the 2021-2029 Housing Element cycle, the City is required to identify sites within the city as capable of developing housing. In an effort to realize the housing capacity on these sites, the zoning map is amended to align with the General Plan. Title 17 of the Hermosa Beach Municipal Code is amended to provide the development standards for such development as well as bring Title 17 up to date with State law. Ordinance No. 23-1470 was introduced for first reading by the City Council of the City of Hermosa Beach at its regular meeting held on October 24, 2023, and adopted on November 14, 2023, by the City Council of the City of Hermosa Beach by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Detoy, Saemann, Jackson, Mayor Pro Tem Francois and Mayor Massey; NOES: None; ABSTAIN: None ABSENT: None The Ordinance will take effect thirty days after its adoption.
