NOTICE OF ADOPTION AND SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE NO. 23-1466
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY HERMOSA BEACH, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING CHAPTER 10.40 OF THE HERMOSA BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE TO ESTABLISH SPEED LIMITS FOR BUSINESS ACTIVITY DISTRICTS ON HERMOSA AVENUE AND PIER AVENUE, ESTABLISH SCHOOL ZONES, REDUCE SPEED LIMITS ON HERMOSA AVENUE AS PERMITTED BY THE CALIFORNIA VEHICLE CODE AND DETERMINE THE ORDINANCE TO BE EXEMPT FROM THE CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on August 8, 2023 the City Council of the City of Hermosa Beach (“City”) adopted Ordinance No. 23-1466 to change the speed limits in select areas of the City and finding the same exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act.
Ordinance No. 23-1466 proposes to change the speed limits in select areas of the City and finding the same exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act. Among other things, the ordinance proposes to reduce speed limits on certain portions of Hermosa Avenue and establishes speed limits for Business Activity Districts and School Zones in the City as permitted by the California Vehicle Code.
Ordinance No. 23-1466 was introduced on July 25, 2023 and adopted on August 8, 2023 by the City Council of the City of Hermosa Beach by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Detoy, Saemann, Francois, Mayor Pro Tem Massey and Mayor Jackson; NOES: None; ABSTAIN: None ABSENT: None.
