NOTICE OF ADOPTION AND SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE NO. 23-1464
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HERMOSA BEACH, CALIFORNIA, ADDING CHAPTER 2.76 TO THE HERMOSA BEACH, MUNICIPAL CODE RE-ESTABLISHING A CIVIL SERVICE BOARD AND DETERMINING THE ORDINANCE IS NOT A PROJECT UNDER THE CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT (“CEQA”)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on July 11, 2023, the City Council of the City of Hermosa Beach (“City”) adopted Ordinance No. 23-1464 to add Chapter 2.76 of the Hermosa Beach Municipal Code re-establishing a Civil Service Board in the City and finding the action exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act.
Ordinance No. 23-1464 proposes to add Chapter 2.76 of the Hermosa Beach Municipal Code re-establishing a Civil Service Board in the City and finding the action exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act. This ordinance re-establishes the Civil Service Board in the City pursuant to the approved Hermosa Beach Personnel Rules and Regulations for Civil Service Employees in the City. The Civil Service Board will review and approve job classification sin the City and will handle future duties as determined by the City Council and, if applicable, the City’s various labor groups.
Ordinance No. 23-1464 was introduced on June 13, 2023 and adopted on July 11, 2023 by the City Council by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Detoy, Saemann, Francois, Mayor Pro Tem Massey and Mayor Jackson; NOES: None; ABSTAIN: None ABSENT: None.
