Tentative Construction Update for the Week of 3.4.19
Hermosa Avenue Update
The contractor hired by the City of Hermosa Beach for the Hermosa Avenue Improvement Project has completed paving and upcoming work for the week of 3/4 will include work on downtown traffic signals and striping. Work hours will be from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. Traffic lanes may be closed at any given time during construction; however, there will be one lane open to traffic at all times.
Please use extra caution: While there are reflector tabs placed along the street with the new pavement, please exercise additional caution when driving or walking along Hermosa Avenue between 10th and 26th Streets as crews must wait approximately two weeks for the pavement to cure before installing permanent striping, stop lines, and crosswalks.
Strand Construction Update
Stamped-Concrete Removal and Replacement on the Strand will continue the week of 3/4 pending weather delays. The next phase of work, will result in a closure of the Strand between 13th Street and 15th Street to all through traffic at all hours starting Monday and re-opening on Friday. Pedestrian/bicycle traffic will be temporarily diverted to Hermosa Avenue as a detour. Signage, flashing lights, and other traffic control will be in place during construction to keep patrons, strand users, and the construction crew safe during this time.
